Taming

With Animal Taming a wild animal becomes yours: it follows you, fights beside you and, if it is a mount, carries you. Coliseo has mounts of its own: horses of chaos and order, mustangs, oclocks, ostards, zostriches and llamas of many colours.

A hooded tamer holds out a hand to a great saddled black horse in a stable at night, with a wolf and a white stag lying in the straw

Taming

  1. Use Animal Taming: its button in the skills window (K), or the skill dragged onto the action bar. The game asks «¿Qué animal quieres domar?» (which animal do you want to tame?).
  2. Choose the creature. You must be close to it and see it: otherwise the game says «Estás demasiado lejos» (too far) or «No ves a la criatura» (you cannot see it). A wild animal wanders: follow it.
  3. Your character talks to it two to five times («Tranquilo, no te haré daño», «Buen animal», «Ven aquí, ven»…). Then either «Parece que te acepta como su amo»: it is yours and follows you; or «No logras domar a la criatura»: try again.

Each creature asks for a level of Animal Taming (the tables below). With exactly that skill you succeed about half of the time; with more it is easier, with less harder but not impossible. A creature you have fought is harder to tame. A character's skills stop at 100, and the hardest mounts ask for up to 104.5: they can be tamed, with more attempts. Taming the same creature again does not raise your skill. There is no limit to how many pets you keep.

Giving orders

Pets obey spoken orders, said with Enter or T. They start with all (all your pets) or with the pet's name, and are in English, as the server reads them:

OrderWhat the pet does
all comeComes to you.
all follow meFollows you wherever you go.
all stayStays where it is.
all stopStops what it is doing.
all guard meGuards you.
all killThe game asks whom: the pet attacks it.
all releaseSets it free, after asking whether you are sure.

And without saying anything, your pets attack whoever you attack.

Riding

In peace (Tab), double-click a mount of yours and you ride it; double-click yourself to get off. Every mount on this page can be ridden.

The mounts

Every creature that can be tamed and ridden and lives somewhere in the world, by family, from the easiest to tame to the hardest. Where it lives names the areas with most of them; At once is how many the world keeps alive at the same time: a mount with 1 or 2 is rare.
