The 2003 client carried its music as MP3s, and in the browser it sounded bright and tiresome: short tracks repeating without end. Instead of patching it, we composed music of our own for the game, medieval in tone and darker.
- Peace: lute, harp, drone and wooden flute, for the road.
- Battle: low strings at a gallop, timpani and war drums, and the tune in the brass, with recorded orchestral instruments and six sections that never repeat the same way. It plays when you go to war, and the tune in the thick of a fight.
Music is on by default and set in Options, Sound: the volume and the combat music. Switched off, nothing is downloaded.
