Blacksmithing

What you need

• A smith's hammer (smith's hammer). Blacksmiths sell it. Using it puts it in your hand.
• Ingots. Iron ones (iron ingot) are sold by blacksmiths. You can also smelt your own ore: double-click it next to a forge and it becomes ingots.
• A forge and an anvil beside you. The towns' smithies have both; away from a forge the game warns you: «Para forjar tienes que estar junto a una forja» (you have to be next to a forge).

Forging

1. Double-click the hammer. The game asks what to use it on: choose your ingots.
2. The smithy menu opens with what you can make right now: only what your skill allows and what you carry material for appears. A group with nothing in reach does not show; with coloured ingots their armour appears.
3. Choose the piece. If it works, it goes to your backpack. If it fails, «Fallas al forjar y pierdes parte del material» (you fail and lose some of the material).

Every attempt, whether it works or not, raises the skill a little: forging daggers with 30 Blacksmithing we gained a tenth an attempt.

Starting from nothing

• The Artisan archetype starts with 50 Blacksmithing: it can make almost all the iron.
• If you started with another, a blacksmith teaches you: open their shop and look at the Enseñar (Teach) tab. They teach up to part of what they know, for gold; an armourer in Britain took us from 0 to 25.1 for 251 coins.
• With 10 you can already make the small shield (buckler) and the smith's hammer; with 26.7, daggers. From there, forging is what raises you.

Repairing

In the hammer's menu, Repair and choose the piece: it goes back to full condition and uses a few ingots (three of iron for a badly damaged katana). If the piece is whole, it tells you it is already in perfect condition.

Ancient weapons and shields

The craft's strongest pieces ask for 100 Blacksmithing, plus Magery, rare metals and stones that the strongest monsters leave. The Ancient Weapon Stone is dropped by the Gladiator always; half of the time, Ancient Demon King, Black Liche, King Wyvern, Minotauro, Sphinx and Tainted; one time in four, Blue Demon, Dark-Elf Dragonlord, Giant, Li Mu Bay, Mauler, Necromancer, Shadow liche from hell, Stone Giant, Yang Demon and Ying Demon; and one time in eight, Blood Knight, Demon Mage, Hydra, Mummified Mage, Phoenix Knight, Possessed Guard, Predator, Snow Mage and Wight. They are in the menu under Magic Weapons and Magic Shields, and only appear when you carry everything they ask for.
